I inspired the artwork from Egyptians because of a few things. One was how Solace has oriental genes, the cats that came from Egypt. Another was how the RPer drew Solace's eyes in a way that I thought looked like eyeliner, similar to the eyeliner that the ancient Egyptians wear

I wanted to emphasize this Egyptian royalty with making Solace really show his Oriental genes, with a long, narrow nose and eyes set forward. I also really emphasized the 'eyeliner' Solace hard. 

I had a bit of a hard time settling on the pose at first. I was wondering if I should do majestic or playful. I chose majestic and looking at Solace's app art, I noticed how the pose was similar to a german shepherd. So I inspired the pose from that dog breed. I also was split between making the character face left or right. I settled for left, as you can see in the official art work

I was split between making my own hieroglyphics with cat symbols or to use real hieroglyphics. Chose the latter, and they translated 'Solace shall be the sun that shines upon Nandryx'.

From this quote, I decided to make Solace the 'sun' with having the sun shine upon him.
